Our History

The Foundation for Excellence at BUHS was formed in 1985 by a group of local business people who shared a concern over the inadequacy education in our local high school district. The corporation is conducted as a non-profit public benefit corporation.

Since its beginning, the focus of the Foundation has been to promote, encourage and support educational programs of the Bishop Union High School.

Funding has been achieved through annual fund raising dinners that have been generously supported by the community and funds received from School Spirit Pays. Each year the Board of Directors approves a project with the proceeds from the fundraising activities.

Together, with your support, we will continue to enhance the quality education at Bishop Union High School.

Our Mission

  • Heighten the community’s awareness of the need for greater financial support from the private sector to augment the diminishing government funds available for public education.
  • Act as a fund raising catalyst for capital projects designed to enrich the educational opportunities at Bishop Union High School.
